This policy governs the Redfield Wesleyan Church mobile application ("Church App"), operated by Redfield Wesleyan Church. Your privacy matters to us, and we are committed to being transparent about how your information is used.
Push Notifications. A unique device token is generated by OneSignal (our push-notification service) and stored on OneSignal's servers for delivering push notifications. If you do not have an account, this token is not linked to your personal identity. If you create an account, your push notification identifier is also stored in your member profile to deliver group message notifications.
Account Creation (Optional). The Church App works without an account. You may optionally create an account using Sign in with Apple (on iOS), Sign in with Google (on Android), or an email address and password to access features such as group messaging and sermon downloads. When you create an account, we collect and store:
Passwords are managed by Firebase Authentication and are never stored in the app or directly accessible to church staff. When using Sign in with Apple, Apple controls what information is shared with us.
Group Messaging. If you join a small group and use in-app messaging, we store the messages you send (including text and images) in our Firebase database. Messages are visible to other members of the same small group. Messages sent using the anonymous prayer request option hide your name from other group members, but your identity is still recorded and visible to church administrators. We also record when you last viewed each group conversation to display unread message indicators.
Downloads. When you download sermon audio or video for offline listening, those files are stored locally on your device only. No download activity is tracked or sent to our servers.
The Church App does not gather location data, contact lists, microphone access, advertising identifiers, or biometric information. The app accesses your photo library only when you choose to share an image in group messaging or upload a profile photo; it does not browse your photo library without your action.
We do not sell, trade, or share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
You can request deletion of your Redfield Wesleyan Church App account and associated personal data at any time.
To delete your account from within the app:
If you can no longer access the app, email office@redfieldwesleyan.church from the email address associated with your account and ask us to delete your account. We will process the request and confirm by email.
Data that is deleted: Your authentication account and your member profile — including your display name, email address, profile photo, and stored push-notification identifier — are permanently removed from our active systems immediately upon deletion. Any residual copies in our backups are deleted within 30 days.
Data that is retained: Messages you sent in a small group remain in that group's conversation so the thread stays intact for the other members, but they are no longer linked to an active profile (your name is disassociated). Sermon downloads and personal sermon notes are stored only on your device — never on our servers — and are removed when you delete them or uninstall the app.
Device tokens persist while the app remains installed on your device.
Account data is retained as long as your account exists. You may delete your account from within the app, which removes your member profile and profile photo from our servers.
Group messages you have sent remain in the group conversation after you leave a group or delete your account, but your name will no longer be linked to an active profile.
Downloaded files are stored on your device only and are removed when you delete them from the app or uninstall the app.
Church content (sermons, bulletins, event information) and notification history remain available until removed by church administrators.
The Church App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it. Additionally, users must be at least 18 years of age to create an account, as outlined in our Terms of Use.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
